Mayor Ehlers, Deputy Mayor Lyndes, and our Economic Development Team recently visited The Shanty, a true Cardiff gem that’s been serving the community for 61 years. As one of the oldest continuously operating bars in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, The Shanty remains a beloved gathering place for North County locals. The owners shared how they've, grown their team to 24 employees most of whom live right here in Encinitas. Beyond that, the space has become a welcoming hub where neighbors meet, enjoy the coastline, and even connect with nearby businesses. We’re grateful for The Shanty and inspired by the way they continue to strengthen their ties to our community.
