PROJECT STATUS

Construction of the project occurred between November 25, 2024 and January 5, 2025; while the four fields were closed for their scheduled winter rest period.   Construction is complete and the project Notice of Completion was accepted by City Council in February 2025.

BACKGROUND

The Cardiff Sports Park has served the neighborhood of Cardiff for many years.  In that time, it has undergone multiple improvements, including major renovation in the late-80s and an expansion in the early-2000s.  The Cardiff Sports Park LED Retrofit is the latest improvement made to the park.   Replacement of  the sports lighting fixtures with LED lighting fixtures is expected to result in a 30% reduction in energy consumption.  

Since LED lighting lasts longer and consumes less energy, the project supports the Council's strategic goal to maintain safe and livable communities through well-maintained infrastructure.
