The Engineering Design Manual provides guidance to the public and professionals in the submittal of required material to the Engineering Department for the processing of Engineering permits, grading plans, subdivision maps and parcel maps, drainage designs, sewer designs and water designs.   

Revisions to the 2009 Engineering Design Manual are in progress.  The 2025 Engineering Design Manual Draft Language was made available to members of the public and professional community for input on the revised language.  The Public Comment period closed on April 30, 2025.  Staff is preparing a final updated version for presentation to City Council for approval in Summer 2025.

Chapter 7 is currently adopted in the 2009 EDM as the 2023 Stormwater BMP Design Manual. For the 2025 EDM update, this document is adopted by reference in chapter 6, Drainage & Stormwater Design.
