Bike Rack Program Overview

The City of Encinitas has initiated a pilot City-funded bike rack program to expand bike parking around Encinitas. In alignment with the City’s Climate Action Plan and Active Transportation Plan, the City is providing bike racks and installation free of charge to businesses and property owners around town in an effort to support the growing bicycling population and promote alternative, low-emission transportation.

This program is open to commercial/retail, nonresidential, religious or nonprofit organization properties with a shortage of bike parking. City-funded bike racks may only be installed in spaces that are accessible to the public 24/7. Installations may be on private property or public right-of-way in front of businesses. To request the installation of bike racks, you must be the property owner or manager of the site.
