Since June 1998, the Encinitas City Council has recognized the value of an ongoing program whereby nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations have a means of requesting funding from the City to accomplish arts and civic projects. The establishment of the Community Grant Program (CGP), with an annual General Fund allocation and outside donations, has supported numerous projects that have enriched the five communities of Encinitas.

The CGP provides funding in two categories:

  • Civic: social, recreation, education, health and environment
  • Arts: visual art, performing arts, arts education, literary arts, etc.

Requests for funding are considered through an application process. To be eligible, organizations must be legally established with nonprofit 501(c)(3) status. Please review the Community Grant Program policy and Frequently Asked Questions for more information about the Community Grant Program and qualifications.
