The 25-year tradition, City of Encinitas Junior Lifeguard program is designed for kids ages 9-17 to enhance their ocean skills, led by the Encinitas Marine Safety Department Lifeguards. By combining education with recreation, participants learn about the ocean environment, gain professional lifesaving skills, and enjoy swimming, boogie boarding, bodysurfing and more. The goal of the program is to educate youth in ocean and beach safety while building self-confidence and appreciation for the ocean environment.

To talk with Junior Lifeguard staff, please email encjrguards@encinitasca.gov or call (760) 633-2752. Email is preferred during non-summer session times and will elicit a quicker response.
